Introductory courses

Linear Algebra An introductory course in Linear Algebra will be offered in September 2026 according to the timetable below; the instructor will be professor Lucio Geronazzo. The course will introduce notions about operations with vectors and matrices, dependent and independent vectors, linear systems.

These notions will be useful for the courses of Mathematics for Economics and Mathematical Methods for Economic Analysis, as well as for each econometrics course.

Mathematical Analysis An introductory course in Mathematical Analysis will be offered in September 2026 according to the timetable below; the instructor will be Domenico Menicucci. The course will introduce notions about functions of one variable such as the Continuity, Differential Calculus, Maximization/Minimization, Integral Calculus.

These notions will be useful for the courses of Mathematics for Economics, Mathematical Methods for Economic Analysis, Statistical Inference, as well as for any other course that relies on quantitative tools.

Statistics An introductory course in Statistics will be offered in September 2026 according to the timetable below; the instructor will be Alberto Cassese. The course will introduce basic definitions, fundamental theorems and formulas of probability theory.

These notions will be useful for the courses Statistical Inference, Measurement and Causes of Poverty, and for each econometrics course.
