Quality Assurance

This page is still incomplete

Unifi is applying a system of Quality Assurance with the purpose of guaranteeing the quality of teaching in study programs. Such system relies on the several following bodies.

The Review Committee (Gruppo di riesame)

The Review Committee is a committee responsible for the self-assessment of the educational offerings of the MSc program. The task of the Review Group is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the MSc and to propose actions meant to reinforce the former, and to reduce or eliminate the latter.

More in detail, the Review Committee produces a yearly report based on MSc data regarding enrollment figures, dropout rates, student-to-faculty ratio, faculty qualifications, international mobility, on-time graduation rates, graduate employment rates, and graduate satisfaction. The Review Committee writes an analytical commentary on these data, identifying critical issues and recommending corrective actions.

Furthermore, the Review Committee is tasked with writing a Cyclical Review Report (typically every four years or whenever there is a major change to the program). This report takes a long-term view, evaluating whether the main educational objectives of the program remain appropriate or if fundamental changes are needed. Both the yearly report and the Cyclical Review Report are reviewed by Unifi QA departments.

The Review Committee consists of MSc instructors, student representatives, and industry representatives. Its current composition can be found here.

The Steering Committee (Comitato di Indirizzo)

The planning phase of the MSc program involves defining educational objectives, professional profiles for graduates, and curriculum design in close consultation with stakeholders via a Steering Committee. Periodic meetings of the Steering Committee ensure that these elements are regularly updated in response to evolving educational methodologies and labor market trends.

The Steering Committee consists of MSc instructors and industry stakeholders. Its current composition can be found here.

Joint Faculty-Student Committee (Commissione paritetica docenti studenti)

The School of Economics and Management, which coordinates teaching activities in several study programs including the MSc in Economics and Development, has established a Joint Faculty-Student Committee, with Italian acronym CPDS. This committee consists of one instructor and one student representative for each program. The CPDS produces a yearly report on each program, educational offerings and identifying areas for improvement regarding, for instance, student orientation, teaching quality, and career guidance. The governing bodies of each program are required to address the CPDS's recommendations with specific actions meant to reduce or eliminate the identified weaknesses.
