The course is an introduction to corporate finance, providing a conceptual
framework of the firm’s investment, financing and dividend decision and
value maximization. The aim of the course is to introduce students to
capital budgeting analysis also focusing on bonds and stocks valuation.
Topics will be time value, free cash flow models and cost of capital
estimation.

Explain the fundamentals of corporate finance in order to maximize
shareholder value
Explain the basis for capital budgeting and free cash flow to firm or free
cash flow to equity estimation. Provide the basis for calculating the value
of stocks and bonds using dividends, capital gains and investment
income.
Explain the basic components for estimating the cost of capital
and the role of leverage.
Introduce capital structure and the trade off between debt or equity
financing.
