Students will learn
a. the micro and macro writing skills necessary to produce well-structured academic texts and conference abstracts and to describe/interpret economic trends.
b. the communication skills necessary to produce effective and well-argued oral presentations in power point format on topics studied during their degree course.

Learning Objectives
The aim of this course is to provide students with the tools necessary to follow lessons/lectures
in English and improve study skills such as:
• how to listen to lectures
• how to take notes
• how to give formal/academic oral power-point presentations
• how to write summaries/abstracts and research papers

Prerequisites
Requirements: at least a B2 level of the Common European Framework (see: European Council Framework).
Teaching Methods
48 hours of class lessons + assignments
Type of Assessment
Exam (6 credits+ mark), B2+ level of the Common European Framework.
Attending students:
1. A formal/academic oral presentation (max. 15 min.) on the sustainability report of a company. The presentation should be presented in power-point (saved on a memory stick), well-structured and the language used should be formal!
Non-attending students:
1. A formal/academic oral presentation (max. 15 min.) on the sustainability report of a company. The presentation should be presented in power-point (saved on a memory stick), well-structured and the language used should be formal!
2. A written description/interpretation of economic trends.
