Dopo aver completato il corso gli studenti:
avranno una comprensione chiara della trasformazione dei conflitti internazionail, delle idee e teorie alla base di tali processi , e una comprensione approfondita delle modalità di intervento e dei concetti attuali relativi al peacekeeping, peacebuilding e alla riconciliazione.
avranno avuto una panoramica di esempi concreti di traformazione del conflitto realizzati da organizzazioni globali e italiane;
comprenderanno e saranno in grado di utilizzare competenze basilari e strategie di risoluzione e trasformazione dei conflitti
Metodi Didattici
Le lezioni verranno tenute combinando diverse forme di insegnamento e apprendimento: lezioni frontali, discussioni di gruppo sulle letture assegnate, presentatzioni di studenti, formazione esperienziale, esercizi in classe, video per lo studio di casi, e per incoraggiare riflessione e discussioni. SChede e altri materiali aggiuntivi verranno distribuiti in classe dal docente.

La frequenza del corso è obbligatoria per gli studenti SUF, RACCOMANDATA per studenti UNIFI e Erasmus.
Per avere discussioni di qualità è importante possedere conoscenze e idee a partire dalle quali poter discutere. Per questo mi aspetto da ogni studente di aver effettuato i nanticipo le letture relative alla lezione. UN corso efficace è un atto di "co-creazione": è responsabilità sia del docente che dei partecipanti. E' anche importante che gli studenti abbiano con sé i testi di cui si parlerà.
Etichetta in classe: il corso viene offerto dal docente UNIFI ed è ospitato all'interno della Syracuse University Florence. Per questo i partecipanti sono delle provenienze più diverse, comprendendo studenti italiani, dell'Unione Europea e altri paesi europei (programma "Erasmus") e dal Sud globale, oltre che dagli Stati Uniti. Questa circostanza arricchisce l'esperienza di apprendimento, ma può richiedere a volte pazienza e un certo grado di sensibilità interculturale. Per favore, siate rispettosi dell'opinione degli altri , e non abbiate timore ad articolare la vostra nel corso delle discussioni. Ricordate di spegnere i telefoni cellulari. In aggiunta, gli studenti possono presentaere una relazione di almeno 12 pagine in inglese a interlinea doppio (v. linee guida in inglese in calce). L'esame orale verterà sulla discussione della relazione anche in riferimento ai concetti teorici illustrati nei testi.
Guidelines for writing
The written paper should aim at analyzing a conflict and / or specific strategies, concepts and tool for its peaceful transformation. The essay has to be about 12 pages, double spaced,.
Writing the paper you should:
- use what has been written in the literature to back up your argument: concepts, theories and empirical findings;
- choose a relevant title and divide the text into paragraphs, with a brief introduction and a conclusion;
- formulate a guiding question you want to answer to with your work;
- include a complete bibliography at the end. You are expected to use at least 7 different texts.
