DELoS PhD in Development Economics
DELoS PhD in Development Economics is a curriculum of the PhD Programme in "Development Economics and Local Systems (DELoS)", jointly organized by University of Florence and the University of Trento. This PhD programme aims at providing students with the methodological tools necessary to analyse the social and economic structures and political institutions of developing countries, their evolution over time and their relations with developed countries and the international economy. A specific focus is placed on the theoretical and empirical analysis of the changes in growth, inequality, poverty and human development induced by endogenous factors, national economic policies and transformations of the world economy.

PhD in Economics
The PhD in Economics of the Tuscan Universities is jointly offered by the University of Florence, University of Pisa and University of Siena. It aims at training students for a career as economists in academic institutions or in research departments of corporations or public organizations. In the first year students are required to take compulsory courses. These courses will provide students with the knowledge, analytical skills and capabilities to conduct their research at the frontier of economics. Our program gives emphasis to economic history and the history of economic thought, and recognizes the importance of exposing students to different theoretical perspectives. First year courses will mainly be held at the University of Siena, where students are welcome to apply for accommodation facilities. In the following years students will rely on the academic environment and facilities in one of the three universities, according to their research interests.
