Introductory Course 2020-2021

The Master of Science in Economics and Development organizes a short course to prepare the regular lessons in STATISTICAL INFERENCE. Here the timetable:

Platform and link to attend the lessons  will be published here at the beginning of September 2020.

 

Joint seminar Florence-Goettingen

(Prof. Gianna Giannelli University of Florence and Prof. Krisztina Kis-Katos University of Goettingen) 3 ECTS.

This seminar is compulsory for (first and second year) Double Degree students and can be chosen also by other students (in "attivita' a libera scelta").

ORGANIZATION

Attend the seminar, read the papers in advance, actively participate during the presentations.

First part by prof. Gianna Giannelli will require for the exam oral student presentations to be assigned during the first meeting.

Second part: prof Kis-Katos will discuss the papers you’ll have to read in advance. This part requires for the exam writing an essay (7-10 pages) that will be assigned during the last lecture.

MATERIALS

For the seminar materials access MOODLE UNIFI, look for the course Joint Seminar Gottingen 2019-2020. The key for guests is JOINT20.

Gender and Development by prof. Gianna Claudia Giannelli

The first folder contains slides on the background theories of the topics. The other folders contain the papers to be presented/discussed for each topic.

Migration and Development by prof. Kis-katos. Click it, a word file will appear, open it. In blue: papers presented in the lectures. Clicking on the link in this word file you will access all papers. Look at the slides. Read all papers presented in the slides using the slides as guide. Read the papers in advance!!!

Course in Economic History of Globalization (prof. Segreto) 2018-2019

General Information

The course will follow the Fall semester’s calendar of the Syracuse University in Florence. It will start on September 11th, and will end on December 11th . Class will be every Tuesday from 15.10 until 18.10 at the Villa Rossa, Syracuse University in Florence, Piazza Savonarola 15, Florence. Midterm break: October 30th (no class). An on-site class, that will substitute a class of October, is forecasted by September 21st. We will be visiting the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera (Piaggio is the company that invented the Vespa scooter). Organizational details will provided at the beginning of the course. Students from the University of Florence and Erasmus students will have access to all SUF’s facilities, included the library, and to intercultural students’ activities. Course in Politics of globalisation and human rights (prof. Re) 2019-2020

This course follows the US Spring Semester of the Syracuse University in Florence. It will start on January, 21 and will end on April, 21. Class will be every Tuesday from 15,10 to 18,10 in Villa Rossa, Syracuse University in Florence, piazza Savonarola 15, Florence.
